About

My birth name is Michael Majalahti, but I am better known across the wrestling world as “The Canadian Rebel” StarBuck, and in Japan as just StarBuck.  This website is specifically engineered to offer you a solid look at my work within the world of professional wrestling, which I have been a part of since 1992.

I first started out in the wrestling business as both a ring announcer and television announcer under the name of Mike Marshall at the age of 18 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for a promotion named Rocky Mountain Pro Wrestling.  The promoters who gave me my first break and took a chance on a young hopeful were former Stampede Wrestling stars Steve DiSalvo and the late Beef Wellington.

I became fast friends with some of the wrestling talent in RMPW during 1992-1993, among them former Stampede monster Karl “Jason the Terrible” Moffat and ex-WWE/WCW/ECW star Lance Storm, who both would go on to coach me in professional wrestling during 1993.  My professional debut was on January 7, 1994 against Lance Storm at the Victoria Park Civic Center in Calgary, a match which I lost after seven competitive minutes to Lance’s powerbomb and float-over bridge pin.  It should be noted that another good friend of mine from that period, Chris Jericho (who would later go on to become a multi-time WWE Champion), gave me my first pair of wrestling boots for that first outing as a present to start me off on my new fighting art career.

Since that time, I have gone on to wrestle in 18 countries to date, becoming a leading star in the promised land of professional wrestling in Japan, where I was voted amongst the top 5 foreign wrestlers nationwide in the press over 2010.  I have headlined and been in top positions in nearly every country and territory that I have worked in, wrestling against top names in the industry like “The Japanese Buzzsaw” Tajiri, Dave “Fit” Finlay, Keiji Mutoh (aka The Great Muta), Genechiro Tenryu, Ultimo Dragon, Steve Corino, Tatanka, Super Crazy, Takao Omori, Pierre Carl Ouellet, Michael Kovac, Chris “Bambikiller” Raaber, Akira Nogami, Erik Isaksen, Al Snow, Metal Master, Shinjiro Otani, Masato Tanaka, D-Lo Brown, Prince Zefy, Flesh Gordon, Bernard Vandamme, Naomichi Marufuji, Osamu Nishimura and several others.

I have been a two-time European Heavyweight Champion (Eurostars) in 2006-2007 and 2009, a four-time Finnish Wrestling Champion (PWF and FCF Wrestling) between 2005-2010, Italian Heavyweight Champion (IWS) between 2006-2008, Italian Intercontinental Champion (IWS) in 2005,  German Tag Team Champion (with the UK’s Mikey Whiplash for EPW) from 2010 to present, TopCatch European Champion (defeating Michael Kovac of Austria for the vacant title on May 14, 2011 in Wismar, Germany), BWA (British Wrestling Alliance) Catchweight Champion, and the first-ever SMASH Wrestling Champion in Japan (defeating Tajiri in Tokyo on October 28, 2011 in the SMASH title tournament finals).

I have trained talent all across Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark since 2003, when I began coaching wrestling hopefuls initially in Finland, where I still remain an instructor for new talent to this day for FCF Wrestling.  I also work as a commentator for the Eurosport TV channel in Finland, calling WWE wrestling action every Monday night in the Finnish language.
